The kids were out of school today so Carmi took the day off from work and we headed to Carowinds. We bought our season passes and plan to put them to good use this year.

Before coming home today, we wanted to go to the Charleston historic district and walk around a bit. Which, interpreted, means that Carmi wanted to meander through the market and buy something.
But before going to the market, we stopped by our adoption agency and visited with our case worker, Mei, who helped us during our last 2 adoptions. Mei had met Karys previously but she had not met Zane.
In the market, we met a Chinese vendor from the Shanghai area. She went on and on about how our children were so lucky. Then she spoke to Zane in Mandarin and told him he needed to be good to his mother and father. Bless her heart.
Following our excursion to the market, we started for the car to head home and realized we were hungry. So where did we go to eat? Hymans, of course. We can never go to Charleston without eating at Hymans.
Walking to the car after lunch, Zane said, “Dad, I don’t want to go home. I want to stay at the beach.”
Me too, son. Me too.

We got up this morning and enjoyed a great service with our host family at Charleston Baptist Church.
If you ever come to Charleston and are looking for a place to worship, I would highly recommend CBC. Lots of families with children.
Following church, the kids had to get in some DS time before lunch at Gilligans and an afternoon at Splash Zone Water Park.

We are in Charleston for the weekend with some other adoptive families.
We spent the day at the beach. Zane absolutely loved the ocean and did not want to leave.

We spent the last part of the afternoon and into the early evening at the lake with some friends from church.
Zane and Karys had turns driving the boat. Eliana, as usual, was fearless on the tube.
