Emperor Santa

Santa may not be Chinese but he certainly can dress the part.

The Horchow Collection, a luxury mail-order company that offers unique decorative items from around the world, is selling an Emperor Santa.

Emperor Santa wears emblems of good luck, from his necklace to his cage of crickets. The richly embroidered robe has a hand-screened dragon design. Santa has a porcelain face and the fabric is polyester with faux fur trim. The doll stands 26” tall and costs $75.

I don’t do mornings

Karys has a doctor’s appointment this morning so she’s up quite a bit earlier than normal.

Three great minds at work

Britney Spears adopting from China?

This sounds like a story invented to sell papers, but who really knows when it comes to Britney Spears.

The British tabloid News of the World reports that the beleaguered pop star is planning to adopt 6-year-old twins from China. The Rav Showbiz column reports that she isn’t just wishing for new children, she’s actually in the final stages of talks with the adoption agency and the process is moving forward.

Why on earth would the party girl who can’t properly care for her own children want more? According to the article, she is trying to fill the void left after losing custody of her two biological sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Sorry wacky woman but it ain’t gonna happen. If by some miracle it did, China would have a boatload of explaining to do.

Decorating our tree

Both girls jumped right in and helped finish decorating our tree. Most ornaments ended up around the lower half, of course, so it’s a little bottom-heavy.

This is my favorite Kodak moment of the day.

As soon as Eliana finished setting it up, Karys was captivated by the manger scene. Occasionally she would reach out and softly touch a figurine or two but mostly she just sat and stared.

I look forward to the day when we can help her understand the significance of that little baby.

Let the adorning begin

Christmas in a box

It might not look like Christmas just yet, but it will when we pull all the stuff out of these boxes and bags.
